Does it seem to you that other states always blaming Californian refugees shitting up their state sounds a lot like blaming a bogeyman rather than acknowledging the shenanigans they've always had in their own state? Sorry if this was strangely worded - it's just so hard to put this feeling into words

Not being from the southwest I’m not really sure.  It’s difficult to discern the truth and there’s a lot of conflicting information I haven’t taken the time to digest.  I would say that California’s quasi-militant sanctuary posture makes that accusation plausible.

I’m an open borders guy myself though I’m nuanced enough to recognize the conflict between this position and a state using migrants to become increasingly authoritarian.  A state that has set up generous welfare programs and government/corporate industrial complexes to feed on masses of illegals at the expense of the citizenry they abuse as tax mules is a big fucking problem.

This doesn’t seem that complex of a relationship to comprehend but for whatever reason this is a debate where people are stacked on the extremes.

Either you’re absolutely open borders or you want to build the wall.

As long as there are progressives using social strain and various government programs and complexes to concentrate power in the state, I understand completely the desire/need to control immigration.

What I wish  many on the right would recognize is that the vast majority of migrants are just looking for a better life like most of their own ancestors who immigrated to the states in the last 200 years.  Don’t be hostile to them, be hostile to the government that’s using them.

“Fucked up ‘need to defend yourself’ mentality” This mentality is so foreign to me that I can’t empathize with it on any level. Self preservation is a requirement for a successful species, otherwise it goes fucking extinct. I’m so sick of these adult-children.

All I can say is that the post-war United Kingdom has been completely subverted by the illiberal fabian socialists of the Labour Party.  This is a fundamental rejection of classical liberalism that was born there and led to the casting off of monarchy and slavery across the European continent and the Americas.  I believe England’s history of monarchy and aristocracy helped make the population susceptible to this backsliding.

I bring up dystopian literary tropes quite often but this recoiling we see at the idea of an adult human being carrying simple tools or self-defense as a “fucked-up need” reminds me of the warning of Aldous Huxley with respect to human conditioning.

In Brave New World the government has developed a caste system that’s forcibly entrenched in the psyche of the general population.  From the time of their mechanical birth through rounds of regimented conditioning and strictly enforced social boundaries the classes are separated and conditioned to have certain proclivities and specific unfounded but widely held fears.

This is an excerpt from the book that deals with the conditioning of the lowest caste, the Deltas.  It has always stuck with me because I see it in irrational positions like those widely expressed in the UK.  I also see elements of it in the university with radical feminism which often seeks to terrorize the students into becoming stunted radicals themselves;

“INFANT NURSERIES. NEO-PAVLOVIAN CONDITIONING ROOMS, announced the notice board.

The Director opened a door. They were in a large bare room, very bright and sunny; for the whole of the southern wall was a single window.

Half a dozen nurses, trousered and jacketed in the regulation white viscose-linen uniform, their hair aseptically hidden under white caps, were engaged in setting out bowls of roses in a long row across the floor.  Big bowls, packed tight with blossom.  Thousands of petals, ripe-blown and silkily smooth, like the cheeks of innumerable little cherubs, but of cherubs, in that bright light, not exclusively pink and Aryan, but also luminously Chinese, also Mexican, also apoplectic with too much blowing of celestial trumpets, also pale as death, pale with the posthumous whiteness of marble.

The nurses stiffened to attention as the D.H.C. came in.  "Set out the books,“ he said curtly. In silence the nurses obeyed his command.

Between the rose bowls the books were duly set out–a row of nursery quartos opened invitingly each at some gaily coloured image of beast or fish or bird.

“Now bring in the children.”  They hurried out of the room and returned in a minute or two, each pushing a kind of tall dumb-waiter laden, on all its four wire-netted shelves, with eight-month-old babies, all exactly alike (a Bokanovsky Group, it was evident) and all (since their caste was Delta) dressed in khaki.

“Put them down on the floor.”  The infants were unloaded.  "Now turn them so that they can see the flowers and books.“

Turned, the babies at once fell silent, then began to crawl towards those clusters of sleek colours, those shapes so gay and brilliant on the white pages.

As they approached, the sun came out of a momentary eclipse behind a cloud.

The roses flamed up as though with a sudden passion from within; a new and profound significance seemed to suffuse the shining pages of the books.  From the ranks of the crawling babies came little squeals of excitement, gurgles and twitterings of pleasure.  The Director rubbed his hands. "Excellent!” he said.  "It might almost have been done on purpose.“

The swiftest crawlers were already at their goal. Small hands reached out uncertainly, touched, grasped, unpetaling the transfigured roses, crumpling the illuminated pages of the books.

The Director waited until all were happily busy.  Then, "Watch carefully,” he said.  And, lifting his hand, he gave the signal.

The Head Nurse, who was standing by a switchboard at the other end of the room, pressed down a little lever. There was a violent explosion.  Shriller and ever shriller, a siren shrieked.  Alarm bells maddeningly sounded.  The children started, screamed; their faces were distorted with terror.  "And now,“ the Director shouted (for the noise was deafening), "now we proceed to rub in the lesson with a mild electric shock.”  He waved his hand again, and the Head Nurse pressed a second lever.  The screaming of the babies suddenly changed its tone.  There was something desperate, almost insane, about the sharp spasmodic yelps to which they now gave utterance.  Their little bodies twitched and stiffened; their limbs moved jerkily as if to the tug of unseen wires.  "We can electrify that whole strip of floor,“ bawled the Director in explanation.  "But that’s enough,” he signalled to the nurse.

The explosions ceased, the bells stopped ringing, the shriek of the siren died down from tone to tone into silence.  The stiffly twitching bodies relaxed, and what had become the sob and yelp of infant maniacs broadened out once more into a normal howl of ordinary terror.

“Offer them the flowers and the books again."The nurses obeyed; but at the approach of the roses, at the mere sight of those gaily-coloured images of pussy and cock-a-doodle-doo and baa-baa black sheep, the infants shrank away in horror, the volume of their howling suddenly increased.

"Observe,” said the Director triumphantly, “observe.”

This is what I see in these Brits who think self-defense is insane and that you’re a criminal if you carry a knife or screwdriver much less a firearm.

Humor me, but the scene was so poignant that years ago I clumsily painted one of those delta babies as it was conditioned to hate the rose.

When discussing knife bans in the U.K, I was told that it was weird for Americans to be carrying knives, especially knives that "people mug other people with", and that only psychos or weirdos carry knives that aren't pocket knives around. It was only later that I realized they just answered their own question about why to carry a knife that just *looks* intimidating like a steak knife. There are many blogs out there on how to carry knives in the U.K by citizens who also think the law is nuts.

Being one of those sane people has to feel like they’re living in We Happy Few.

A barber in Australia is being sued for refusing to cut a girl's hairnewsweek.com

Sam Rahim, who has his own barber shop on Sydney’s North Shore, became embroiled in the scandal late last year, when a customer walked into his workplace with a request that Rahim said was unusual. She wanted Rahim to cut her daughter’s hair.

“I refused politely,” he told Australia’s Channel 9 News, when recalling the start of the dispute, which is now set to go to court over the next couple of weeks. “I explained I’m not qualified to cut women’s or girls’ hair. I’ve never done it,” Rahim said, claiming that the woman, a lawyer, did not accept his explanation and filed a complaint accusing him of embarrassing her daughter.

“She might have been more embarrassed walking to school if I’d butchered her hair,” Rahim said. “The skills are different. Look up barber and it says ‘a place where men get their haircut’.” The barber said the angered woman “kept pressing him” to “just do it,” but he refused and she stormed out.

The claimant, who preferred not to be identified for fear of revealing her daughter’s identity, disputed the barber’s account, saying that Rahim “never said he was not qualified to cut women or girls’ hair.” This, she argues, is something the barber has incorrectly reported to the media.

“Mr Rahim’s explanation was that he wished to keep his barber shop for boys and men only,” the woman alleged, confirming that she has filed a claim in court, which accuses the barber of breaching Australia’s Sex Discrimination Act.

“The basis of the claim is that the barber shop refused to simply run the clippers through my daughter’s undercut, because she was a girl,” the woman told the broadcaster in a statement. “I indicated to him that I did not need him to style, cut or trim the rest of her hair, which is styled in a ‘bob’.”

“The matter remains before the Court and it is inappropriate for me to provide any further comment at this point in time.”

In turn, Rahim has said that he fears financial losses as a result of legal bills. “I haven’t been able to sleep. My wife hasn’t been able to sleep. I don’t understand why someone would do something like this,” he said.

The case will be decided by The Federal Circuit Court of Australia over the coming weeks.

Well this could be interesting

Man fuck this country the dude doesn’t know how to cut women’s hair, women like extremely complicated styles men usually just want a nice trim. They’re two entirely different artistic practices and if he hasn’t trained himself to have and I for cutting woman’s hair then he is not going to have a knife for cutting woman’s hair. That is completely reasonable

It’s a big old he said she said at this point, but yeah if he’s not qualified to cut girls hair or doesn’t feel comfortable doing girls hair he shouldn’t have to risk the inevitable outrage that would come from that.

If he’s telling the truth, which I think his side is more reasonable than hers.

Even if he’s lying and he actually said “fuck off you stupid cunt, I hate all women and girls” that’s his right as a human being

WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO FORCE SOMEONE TO CUT YOUR HAIR WHO DOESN’T WANT TO????

BECAUSE OF THE FEELS

The biggest Black Lives Matter page on Facebook is fakemoney.cnn.com

thinksquad:

The page, titled simply “Black Lives Matter,” had almost 700,000 followers on Facebook, more than twice as many as the official Black Lives Matter page. It was tied to online fundraisers that brought in at least $100,000 that supposedly went to Black Lives Matter causes in the U.S. At least some of the money, however, was transferred to Australian bank accounts, CNN has learned.

Fundraising campaigns associated with the Facebook page were suspended by PayPal and Patreon after CNN contacted each of the companies for comment. Donorbox and Classy had already removed the campaigns.

Wait, I'm confused. Are you for or against escalating in Syria? Your 1st post (the one about the "white supremacists" being against going to war with Syria) makes it sound like you're against it, but then you reblog it calling Richard Spencer controlled opposition and show him saying he's against it, which makes it sound like you're for it, because why would you feel the need to insult someone for being for something you agree with?

The fact that they’re propping up a “white supremacist” as being anti-war is an attempt to directly associate that sentiment with a social/cultural pariah and thereby suppress or disparage it in the public consciousness.  The collectivist political culture is tailor made for this type of lemming manipulation.

The image above Spencer in that post is a diagram of the Hegelian Dialectic.  It is a visual illustration of the framework used for guiding our thoughts and actions into conflicts that lead us to a predetermined solution or outcome.  Spencer is a prop in this machination.

X: “I’m opposed to war in the Middle East and war in Syria.” Z: “sounds like something a Nazi would say.” This is a meme based on this type of manipulation.

Flag burning is a pretty good litmus test subject for how much an individual either is for or against liberty.

If I saw someone burning an ancap flag I’d just think “hey, some ancap store made $10 off this, awesome”

haha that is the perfect Ancap response to such a thing.

It really doesn’t get any more perfect than that.

“The students of Parkland are like veterans coming home from the bloody front of the N.R.A.’s de facto war on children. They’ve seen their friends, teachers and coaches gunned down in the halls. To them, powerful Washington lobbyists and United States senators suddenly look like what they are: cheesy TV spokesmodels for murder weapons. It has been inspiring and thrilling to watch furious, cleareyed teenagers shame and vilify gutless politicians and soul-dead lobbyists for their complicity in the murders of their friends. Last week Wayne LaPierre was reduced to gibbering like Gen. Jack D. Ripper in “Dr. Strangelove” about a “socialist” takeover and “hardening” our schools. You could see the whites all around his irises. That look is fear.”

WAR ON CHILDREN

__________________

Their hyperbole got stale and lost its edge in 1996.

A war on children is not incompetent law enforcement allowing a psychopath to carry out a crime.  And it has nothing to do with disarming the population of the united states.

A war on children looks more like what’s been happening in the middle east for the last 20 years than it does nikolas cruz or any NRA boogeymen these pompous asses want to bring up.

“But to ban guns because criminals use them is to tell the innocent and law-abiding that their rights and liberties depend not on their own conduct, but on the conduct of the guilty and the lawless, and that the law will permit them to have only such rights and liberties as the lawless will allow. … For society does not control crime, ever, by forcing the law-abiding to accommodate themselves to the expected behavior of criminals. Society controls crime by forcing the criminals to accommodate themselves to the expected behavior of the law-abiding.”

Hairdresser: We’re going to have to use a color remover to take out the blue pigment, then apply more pigment to allow for the proteins in the hair to adhere to it. Then possibly mix three different types of toners to reach the goal of your natural hair color.

Hairdresser: pretty simple

Me: this is chemistry

Hairdresser: yeah, but people don’t like when we talk that way

Hairdresser: so you’re a mortician?

Me: apprentice

Hairdresser: do you know why formaldehyde is used in clothing?

Me: I didn’t know that was a thing

Hairdresser: I think it’s due to the preserving qualities? But I don’t think that’s right.

Me: It’s not just a preservative, it’s also a disinfectant ‘cause it destroys bacteria as well as their food supply. It’s also a dehydrator.

Hairdresser: why not just use alcohol?

Me: good question. Formaldehyde is super cheap, so probably to cut costs

Hairdresser: is it really a carcinogen?

Me: yeah, I’m going to have so much cancer

Hairdresser: so you’re going natural to work at a funeral home?

Me: yeah

Hairdresser: while still in school?

Me: well we work in the funeral homes so we have uuuuh … experience with cases

Hairdresser: you can just say bodies it’s fine

Me: oh thank god

Five Minutes Later

Me: yeah so we don’t do autopsies it’s one of my pet peeves

Hairdresser: what if someone wakes up while you’re embalming them?

Me: there’s a huge difference between a living body and a dead one

second hairdresser: I think we should add more toner, but yeah I think rigor mortis would make it pretty obvious

Me: that and being in a fridge for a few days you will be dead by the time you get to us

Hairdresser: I think pumping them full of a carcinogen would help with that
